You will be saved

I know a guy.
He's full of guilt, full of misery because he's full of guilt. He is trying to be "Christian" and all he does is fail, time after time. He can't follow all the rules. Just can't. He's lonely because he's in some sort of between world where he has one foot in the world and one foot in the kingdom of God.
Amazingly though, there is good news. He's approaching this from the wrong angle, near as I can see.
The Bible says this: "If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved."
I believe this to be the most important verse in scripture. It deals with guilt, with all the things we do to others in the name of Christianity, with the misery that follows when we fail, when we fall.
It's so easy. (With full meaning and belief) declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead and YOU WILL BE SAVED.
No baptism. No good works. No being super Christian and volunteering for everything and doing nothing well because of it. No. No. No.
Proclaim. Believe. Be saved.
As easy as going through a drive-thru.
As easy as a bag of microwave popcorn.
Easy.
Doesn't mean there won't be the same slips, the same falls. But they will lessen over time as long as we keep our eyes on the prize, which is the kingdom.
Today, this very day, if you've come across the blog by what you deem is coincidence, just think about this. It's easy. If you've been struggling with your self and losing, then turn to Jesus and profess him out loud then believe it with all your being. He is there waiting. I truly, truly believe it.
You will be saved.
